FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Thomas Patterson is a Panelist at The Asian American Business Expo

CHICAGO, IL – Thomas E. Patterson of The Patterson Law Firm, LLC explained his point of view on turning business risks into opportunities at The Asian American Business Expo. More than 1,000 attended the event held June 2, 2012, at the Illinois Institute of Technology located at 3241 S. Federal St., Chicago, IL. With him on the panel were Emily Dong of MassMutual and CPA David Liu.

The panel discussed topics surrounding starting a business, how to sufficiently plan for what’s ahead, and practical strategies you can implement today to turn risks into opportunities. Patterson provided the business litigation perspective: shareholder and LLC member disputes in small corporations and LLCs are common and sometimes can be avoided if appropriate agreements are defined in advance.

“Sometimes these commercial litigation matters are caused by generational differences,” Patterson said. “MassMutual did a great job by pointing out that the community needs to improve its financial planning as it’s so important to have insurance, accounting and proper legal representation in place.”
